To use your wings select "Wear" from the "Faeline Fairy Wings" object in your inventory. They will normally attach to your spine.
Touch the wings for a menu to change the style and behaviour.
You can use the "<< Back" button on menus to return to the previous one. The current settings are shown above the menu buttons.
Right click on your wings to a menu and select "Edit..." and you will see red, green and blue arrows. The wings are attached to the middle of your back by default but you can move them out by dragging the blue arrow or higher or lower with the green arrow.
You can attach the wings to any part of your body and adjust the position and angle. This can be useful for non-humanoid flying creatures.
Touch the wings for the "Main Menu" then select "Size".
There are 6 pre-set sizes to select, from "Micro" to "Huge", and additionally you can adjust the size up or down in 5% steps to fine tune your wing size.
The "Micro" size is suitable for very small mesh fairies about 1/10th normal human size.
Touch the wings for the "Main Menu" then select "Tilt".
Your wings may have up to 3 pairs of wings, although some Faeline Fairy wing styles only have 2 pairs and will not have all these menu options.
The upper and inner wings can be tilted up to 40° up and forwards (-ve tilt) or down and back (+ve tilt).
The lower wings can also be tilted up to 40° down (-ve tilt) or up (+ve tilt).
You can also select "No Tilt" on all pairs of wings at the same time or "Default Tilt" which is no tilt on the upper and inner wings and 10° on the lower wings.
Touch the wings for the "Main Menu" then select "Feel".
The feel of the wing is the softness and the weight.
The softness may be "Delicate", "Soft", "Firm" or "Rigid". The softer the wings the longer they take to return to an open or closed position after flapping. Generally smaller wings should be softer and larger wings firmer.
The weight, "Light" or "Heavy", determines how much they droop.
Touch the wings for the "Main Menu" then select "Effects".
|Bright||Switch on or off the brightness option with the "Bright" menu option. When bright the wings will light up regardless of the surrounding lighting.|
|Glow||Adjust the amount of glowing on the wings with the "More Glow" and "Less Glow" options or switch off glowing with "Glow Off".|
|Fairy Dust||When switched on a shower of bright sparkling dust will fall from you as you fly. The fairy dust will only fall when you are flying.|
|Sparkles||You will be surrounded by faint still sparkles in the air which slowly appear and fade.|
There are 2 separate flapping states; one when you are flying or hovering and the other at all other times.
You can set the flapping rate and style for each state and then your wings will automatically switch between them when you fly or stop flying. For example you could have a fast regular flap when flying and have the wings still and folded back when you are not flying.
To change either flapping style touch the wings for the "Main Menu" then select "Flying Flap" or "No Fly Flap".
Flapping can be "Regular" when your wings open and close at regular intervals, or "Random" when the interval between flaps is not the same at each flap.
When flapping there are 3 speeds to select "Fast", "Medium" or "Slow".
You can also have the wings still and either spread open "Still Spread" or closed back "Still Back".
Your wings can have up to 12 different chat phrases that will be spoken by your wings when touched by someone else. These can be either random or the touching person can select the phrase from a menu, you can also switch off the chat.
To change the chat settings touch the wings for the "Main Menu" then select "Chat".
Your "Chat" menu lets switch between random "Random", menu selected chat "Menu Chat" or switch off chat altogether "No Chat". You can test the chat menu and phrases with the "Test" option.
Also on the chat menu you should set your gender with the "Boy" or "Girl" menu options.
The chat is set in a notecard in the wings named "Chat Settings".
To edit the notecard right click on the wings from the menu select "Edit..." then select the "Content" tab and double click on "Chat Settings" and edit the notecard before saving.
In the notecard there is an entry to set gender specific words which can be translated.
LANGUAGE_GIRL_BOY = her/she/girl/his/he/boy
Chat in German may use the following instead:
LANGUAGE_GIRL_BOY = ihren/sie/Mädchen/seinen/er/Jungen
There are up to 12 menu text (up to 24 characters inside square brackets) and chat phrase text entry (up to 240 characters) pairs in the notecard, the format is " [Menu Item] Phrase text". The phrase text can contain special codes which will be changed as follows:
|$O1$||-||Your (owners) first name|
|$O2$||-||Your (owners) full name|
|$O3$||-||Your (owners) display name|
|$O4$||-||Your (owners) user name|
|$OG1$||-||"her" or "his" depending on your (owners) Girl/Boy setting and the LANGUAGE_GIRL_BOY setting|
|$OG2$||-||"she" or "he"|
|$OG3$||-||"girl" or "boy"|
|$T1$||-||Toucher's first name|
|$T2$||-||Toucher's full name|
|$T3$||-||Toucher's display name|
|$T4$||-||Toucher's user name|
For example the setting:
[Brush] $T3$'s fingers brush lightly over $O3$'s wing tickling $OG1$ and bringing a quick shiver
Will be associated with menu option "Brush" and would say something like "Pryda's fingers brush lightly over Juniper's wing tickling her and bringing a quick shiver"
When you save the notecard the phases will be reloaded and the wings will initially be set to random chat, if you prefer that the toucher gets a menu to select from you should use the "Chat" menu again after saving.
Start a rapid shake of the wings lasting a second or so by touching the wings for the "Main Menu" then select "Flutter".
You can hide your wings by touching the wings for the "Main Menu" then select "Hide".
When hidden the wings can still chat when touched but they will be invisible.
To unhide the wings touch your back and you should get another menu with a "Show" option.
If you are unable to touch your back, because other attachments get in the way, you can detach and reattach your wings to unhide them.
Your Faeline Fairy Wings have modify and copy permissions. Most properties of the wings are controlled by the scripts so should not be changed. However you can change the colour on the "Texture" tab when you edit them.
